Who should use the NeuroProgrammer?

Anyone who wants change in their life, more control over their own brain, or wants to enhance their mental abilities.

Is it safe? Who should not use the Neuro-Programmer?

Yes it is very safe, but only for those not mentioned below:

What are the side effects, if any?

Use of the NeuroProgrammer has many positive side effects that may or may not be directly related to your goals. You may see more emotional stability, better blood circulation, quicker thinking, heightened awareness, increased energy, and much more. Many people even report a reduced need for sleep.

The only negative side effects that have been reported are occasional temporary negative mood change and for especially intense sessions mild headaches have been reported, but only for the first few uses. Headaches usually occur as a result of increased blood flow in the brain, which is a good thing. After you get used to this, it will go away. Most NP users take it as a sign that the session is doing its job: giving you a "mental workout".

Are AudioStrobe Glasses included? Are AudioStrobe Glasses required?

AudioStrobe glasses and the decoder are not included in the software package. However, the NeuroProgrammer is compatible with all AudioStrobe devices and most Mind Machines. You can also add a set of glasses to your order if you like. The glasses are not required. In fact, NP3 comes with a "Screen Flashing" equivalent. However, glasses are much more effective than screen flashing and may be particularly useful for cognitive enhancement and ADD.

If you are epileptic or prone to seizures you should NOT purchase or use AudioStrobe glasses.

Is there a MAC version available?

What is the difference between the Regular and Ultimate versions of NP3?

Use this chart to help decide which version is right for you.

The primary difference between the regular and ultimate editions is that you can create audio/visual sessions in the ultimate edition. Creating sessions is both useful and fun, since you can customize every aspect to yourself and the people around you.

Note that if you are part of the Transparent Commercial Network you will automatically receive the Ultimate Edition.

How does your product compare to others?

We are often asked to compare our product to others. Although we cannot speak specifically about any particular product here, we can say that our product is the most up to date and well researched self-help and brainwave entrainment product on the market today. No other product, to our knowledge, compares (and we have tested nearly all competitive products).

Is there a way to use this away from the computer?

Can I mix my own music with NP3?

Yes, you can customize any session and specify any sound file you wish to use as a background. This can be done in either the Ultimate or Regular versions at the click of a button.

And one of the great and unique features of NP3 is the way it modifies the background sound to entrain the brain. This means that if you prefer to use the background sound alone, you can. No tones or other sounds necessary!

Can I make Hypnosis Scripts with NP3? How about Dual Induction scripts?

What is a "Session"?

A session is an audio / visual experience, often consisting of relaxing sounds and, optionally, visual effects coming from the screen or connected to LED light glasses.

Sessions are the foundation on which the NeuroProgrammer is built. The audio/visual experience is structured to affect the brain in very specific ways, through a complex neurological process called brainwave entrainment (click here for more details). Brainwave entrainment has over 70 years of research behind it. During this time, a variety of brainwave patterns have been associated with specific mental states, disorders and even bodily functions. As a result, sessions can serve a huge variety of purposes, from relaxation, hypnosis and meditation all the way up to enhancing cognition and helping with mood disorders.

There are over 120 top quality sessions built into NP3, and even more in the user library. Additionally, you can create your own sessions or edit the sessions already available (such as changing the pitch or background sound).

Can I edit built-in sessions in NP3?

Yes, all sessions can be edited in NP3, even those that come with the program.

Can I create my own Audio/Visual Sessions?

If you have the Ultimate version you have access to a powerful audio/visual session editor. You can generate noise, tones, use background sounds, create screen visuals, control AudioStrobe signals and much more. You can easily create isochronic tones, binaural beats, or monaural beats. Unlike other programs, NP3 allows an unlimited number of voices and layers. The full feature list of the Session Editor can be found here.

The session editor is also very easy to use, nearly plug and play!

If you have the Regular version of NP3, you will not have access to the editor, but you can still easily customize any session to your liking. For example, you can change the pitch of the tones, add a background, adjust the volume, add scripts, affirmations and much more. Everything is customizable.

What is BioOptimization?

BioOptimization uses input from biofeedback devices to optimize session frequencies. It does this by collecting biofeedback data during a session and analyzing it to determine what frequencies your brain responses best to. It will do this every time you use a session, so that the more you use the session, the more effective it will become.

Which biofeedback devices are supported?

Currently you can use BioOptimization with three devices:

Can I make Subliminal Messages or "Silent Sounds" with your product?

There are no limitations to what you can do with NP3. You can easily adjust the volume of any sound, decreasing it to a point where it is "subliminal." You can also adjust the tempo and pitch of any sound.

However, we have not found subliminal messages to be all that effective. Therefore we recommend our customers use audible hypnosis or, better yet, visualization techniques to accomplish their goals.

Can I use my Mind Machine device with NP3?

Yes, if your device is Audiostrobe-compatible (most of them are).

You don't need any special equipment to use the device with NP3, simply plug the device into the computer speaker or headphone port in the same way the speakers are plugged in now.

Can I sell CDs made with NP3?

Yes, if you have a Commercial License. Otherwise, NP3 can only be used for personal purposes.

All versions of NP3 allow you to export any session, hypnotic script, recording or mix you make, which can then be burnt to a CD or transferred to an mp3 player. If you have a personal (non-commercial) license, you can use the output of NP3 for your own personal use, in any way you see fit. If you have the commercial license, you can use NP3 to sell CDs or in a professional setting.

Can I use NP3 with my customers?

Yes, if you have a Commercial License. Otherwise, NP3 can only be used for personal purposes.

Do I need an internet connection to use NP3?

A connection is recommended but is not required. Online product activation is required, but as long as you have access to an internet connection somewhere you will be able to activate and register the program. No additional downloads or online access is needed once the program is activated.

Are other languages supported?

You can record suggestions in your native language using the microphone recorder, and you can obtain Text-To-Speech voices in other languages from NeoSpeech and AT&T. There is a forum topic on additional TTS voices here: http://www.transparentcorp.com/community/forum/index.php?showtopic=12

Is there a manual included with NP3?

Yes, an extensive, e-book-sized manual is included in NP3. We tried to make the manual interesting as well as informative. More than a few users have said that the documentation alone is worth the price of NP3.

A User Guide is included, complete with detailed screenshots and instructions. More importantly, all of the concepts behind NP3 are explained in detail.

How can NP3 help with Sleep? Are there any Sleep Induction sessions that do not require headphones?

There are many ways NP3 can help you sleep. For one, a large number of sessions included are meant to produce deep relaxation. Additionally, there are sessions are meant specifically for what is called "Sleep Induction", or a session meant to guide you down to a deep, healthy sleep. A unique feature of NP3 is that most of its sessions can be used without headphones, so you can simply export the session to CD and play it from your bedroom stereo. You can even specify a background soundtrack you find most relaxing (such as noise, nature sounds, ocean waves and more).

If you are a chronic Insomniac, a normal Sleep Induction session may not work for you, so we have provided special Insomnia sessions for this purpose. Instead of guiding your mind to sleep, it helps train you to have better control over your own sleep patterns.

I am a student, how can NP3 help me?

There are dozens of ways NP3 can help students. In fact, cognitive enhancement is one of the most well documented uses of Brainwave Entrainment. There are features included such as the Study Focus session, meant to be played while studying, reading or performing complex mental calculations. There are also ADD reduction and cognitive enhancement sessions, meant to help speed up the brain and increase concentration.

Can I make Binaural Beats with this program?

Yes, NP3 includes some binaural beat sessions and if you have NP3 Ultimate you can create your own. In fact, using the session editor in NP3 you can create an unlimited number of binaural beat tracks.

However, binaural beats are not the only way to stimulate brainwaves, and we have actually found that other methods tend to be more effective and more flexible, such as Isochronic tones and filtered noise or background sounds. By default, most of the sessions in NP3 use the entrainment methods that resulted in the greatest neural response during EEG tests.

How can your program work without headphones?

There is a common misconception that Binaural Beats, which require headphones, are the only form of entrainment, so we are often asked "How can NP produce binaural beats without headphones?" The answer is that we are not producing binaural beats, we are producing brainwave entrainment, which can be induced using ANY repeating stimulus. What makes binaural beats a form of entrainment is that they produce "Beats", or pulses of sound which leave individual electrical imprints on the brain. But obviously beats can be produced in ways other than using binaural tones. A drum, for example, could be used to induce brainwave entrainment, if the drummer could keep a very precise frequency for longer than 6 minutes (many ancient and even modern day cultures use drums to induce meditative states, though they may not know the science behind what they are doing).

If the method of entrainment does not rely on speaker assignments, it can be used effectively without headphones.

How can you present a stimulus below 20 Hz since that is below the limit of human hearing?

There is often a confusion in regards to the definition of Hertz, or cycles per second. When we refer to Hertz (Hz) we are referring to pulses per second, as opposed to the pitch. The pitch of the stimulus can be anything within the range of human hearing (20-20,000 Hz), but the frequency of sound bursts per second is usually below 20, since the most important brainwaves range from 0 - 20 Hz. It is the pulse, not the pitch, that leaves the electrical imprint on the brain.

Imagine a metronome set at 5 clicks per second. It could be said that the metronome is clicking at 5 Hertz (Hz). You can hear the metronome clicking 5 times a second, because the pitch of the clicks are well within the hearing range.

The confusion here is often because of the marketing of other companies, who claim that binaural beats produce a "third sound" that can be below 20 Hz. This is not true. What occurs is a "beat" or pulse, which consists of the combination of the 2 tones. The same effect can be replicated using monaural beats, drums, flashes of light or any form of repeating pulse. It is the beat that matters, not the pitch.

Do entrainment methods other than Binaural Beats result in Hemispheric Synchronization?

Hemispheric Synchronization is a byproduct of nearly all types of brainwave entrainment.

In 1980, Tsuyoshi Inouye and associates at the Department of Neuropsychiatry at Osaka University Medical School in Japan found that photic stimulation in the alpha range produced hemispheric synchronization. In 1984, Dr. Brockopp analyzed audio-visual brain stimulation and in particular hemispheric synchronization during EEG monitoring. He said "By inducing hemispheric coherence the machine can contribute to improved intellectual functioning of the brain."

There is similar evidence that CES (electrical stimulation), motion systems, acoustic field generators and even floatation tanks can increase EEG symmetry.

The NeuroProgrammer takes hemispheric coherence a step further by delivering different stimulation to each ear in certain sessions in order to correct common hemispheric asymmetries. For example, depressed individuals tend to have an overactive right (emotional) brain hemisphere, so the depression reduction session acts to decrease right brain activity while increasing left, the end result being a more coherent, healthy and well balanced brainwave pattern.
