A Brief History of Brainwave
Entrainment
Are
AudioStrobe glasses required?
No. Mind WorkStation is compatible with all
AudioStrobe devices, but the glasses are not required to
use the program. LED glasses add a lot to any session,
but audio alone is still very effective. Also, screen flashing
and visual plugins are an option in Mind WorkStation.
Which
mind machines are compatible?
ALL AudioStrobe-compatible devices will work with Mind WorkStation.
Here are some of them:
Light/Sound Synergizer, Proteus, MindSpa,
Sirius, Orion, Nova Pro, InnerPulse, PR-2X (with
A/S decoder), Mind's Eye.
Is
biofeedback required? No.
Mind WorkStation is compatible with a number
of biofeedback devices, but biofeedback integration
is but one of many features of the program. Many people
will use Mind WorkStation without ever using a biofeedback
device. However, if you are interested in biofeedback,
this program offers an impressive set of features in that
area.
Which
biofeedback devices are compatible?
Personal Biofeedback Systems:
- ThoughtStream
- GSR2
- LightStone (Wild Divine's hardware)
- BioScan
- emWave (Freeze Framer)
EEG Software Supported:
- BioExplorer
- BioEra
- BioGraph
EEG and Professional Biofeedback Systems
(BioExplorer, BioEra, BioGraph required):

- Pendant EEG/HEG, Pocket A1-A3, Abhayamudra
I, Abhaamudra II
- WaveRider (all versions)
- Neurobit Lite
- OpenEEG
- NTA-1000
- SpectraLite Pro
- Mind Tuner
- J&J C-2, J&J C-2 mini, J&J

- QDS NFK
- Roshi 1-2+
- Neuroamp (BioEra only)
- Mindfield MindMaster (BioEra only)
- POLAR HRM Transmitter (BioEra only)
- Procomp2, FlexComp Infiniti, ProComp
Infiniti and ProComp5
NOTE: BioGraph 4+ is required for Thought

Are
headphones required?
This will depend on the session you are using.
Some brainwave entrainment methods (like binaural beats)
do require headphones, so if you are using a session that
implements binaural beats, you will need to also use headphones.
However, many entrainment methods can be used effectively
with speakers, so headphones are not required in all cases.
For more information on entrainment methods, click
here.
How
can your program work without headphones?
There is a common misconception
that Binaural Beats, which require headphones, are the
only form of entrainment, so we are often asked "How
can this produce binaural beats without headphones?" The answer is that we are not producing binaural beats,
we are producing brainwave entrainment, which can be induced
using ANY repeating stimulus. What makes binaural beats
a form of entrainment is that they produce "beats",
or pulses of sound which leave individual electrical imprints
on the brain. But obviously beats can be produced in ways
other than using binaural tones. A drum, for example, could
be used to induce brainwave entrainment, if the drummer
could keep a very precise frequency for longer than 6 minutes.
If the method of entrainment does not rely
on speaker assignments, it can be used effectively without
headphones.

here.
How can you present a stimulus
below 20 Hz, since that is the limit of human hearing?
There is often a confusion in regards to
the definition of Hertz, or cycles per second. When we
refer to Hertz (Hz) we are referring to pulses per second,
as opposed to the pitch. The pitch of the stimulus can
be anything within the range of human hearing (20-20,000
Hz), but the frequency of sound bursts per second is usually
below 20, since the most important brainwaves range from
0 - 20 Hz. It is the pulse, not the pitch, that leaves
the electrical imprint on the brain. If the pitch of the
stimulus is below that of human hearing, no entrainment
will occur in most cases.
Picture a metronome set at 5 clicks per second.
It could be said that the metronome is clicking at 5 Hertz
(Hz). You can hear the metronome clicking 5 times a second,
because the pitch of the clicks are well within the hearing
range.

Is
it safe? Who should not use Mind WorkStation?
Yes it is very safe, but only for those not
mentioned below:
Those meeting any of the following conditions,
whether knowingly or not, should not use this application:
· Epileptics
· Pregnant women
· Those who are wearing a pacemaker
· Those prone to seizures
· Those who are photosensitive
Those who should consult a physician before
the use of this product include:
· Individuals under the influence
of medication or drugs.
This application is not to be used while
under the influence of alcohol or other mood altering substances,
whether they are legal or illegal.
Children under the age of 18 are to be examined
by a physician for epilepsy or illnesses that may contribute
to seizures prior to the use of Mind WorkStation,
as they are more susceptible to seizures.
Finally, DO NOT LISTEN TO ANY MIND WORKSTATION
AUDIO FILES WHILE DRIVING OR OPERATING MACHINERY.
Although Transparent
products contribute to wellness they are NOT meant
to replace medical or psychological treatment or consultation.
If you have a serious medical condition please consult
with your physician. Ask about Brainwave
Entrainment and work with your physician to choose
the right treatments for you.
Is a MAC version available?
No, unfortunately there is no Mac-compatible
version available at the moment.
However, we have hundreds of Mac customers using an emulator
like Parallels to run our program. Parallels allows you to
run any Windows program on an Intel Mac.
For more information on Parallels, click
here.
Can
I use Mind WorkStation away from the computer, like on
an Audio CD or MP3 Player?
Yes, you can export any session to WAV which
can be burned to audio CD, or you can export to MP3 for
use on an iPod.
Compressed exports
(MP3, OGG) are automatically configured depending on the
content of your session. This is very important with brainwave
entrainment content, where incorrect compression settings can negatively
affect the signals,
or strip them out altogether.

Is there
a manual included with Mind WorkStation?
Yes, an extensive 350+ page manual is included.
It includes a full user guide and explains in detail
every aspect of what the program does,
so that you are able to get the
most out of it, and also answer any questions posed by
your clients.
A print-version of the manual is not available,
as printing such a large text would add significantly to
the cost of the program and in the end would provide no
benefit over the electronic version which you can search
through. You can, however, print out the documentation
or parts of it on your own.
Are other
languages supported?
Unfortunately no languages other than English
are currently supported. However, the program comes with
microphone recording abilities, allowing you to record
in your native language. The Text-To-Speech
tool is also fully compatible with foreign language voices.
Do
I need an internet connection to use Mind WorkStation?
A connection is recommended but is not required.
Product activation is required,
but as long as you have access to an internet connection
somewhere you will be able to activate or register without
a problem.
Can I purchase
Mind WorkStation over the phone, by mail or FAX?
Yes, see our contact
information page.
