This device claims SAD relief by stimulating the brain with light, not through the eyes, but through the ears! Valkee Brain Stimulation

Anybody have any contact with this device?

Sounds pretty strange to me. I would guess that since the University of Oulu is in Finland, they know about SAD since they spend a lot of time in seasonal darkness.

I would like to know more about this.

As far as light entering the brain, I guess it is possible.

I have a technique I use when traveling and want to reset my internal clock for a different time zone. I get up at dawn, wherever I am and stand with my eyes closed facing the sun. It somehow seems to tell my brain, "This is dawn. Time to start the day." Works for me. I have no more problems with jet lag.

If you put in one earbud, and see light coming out the the other ear, it may be a sign that additional work may be needed :D  :P

Thanks for this, very interesting! Seems legitimate, its on sale in Amazon UK and USA, no reviews yet...

-Effective in the treatment of Seasonal Affective Disorder(S.A.D)
-Revolutionary new treatment for winter depression
-Only 8-12 minutes a day treatment time
-Class 2a Certified Medical Device

Kind of expensive just to try though...More than $200 from UK

The device is scam and the research has some big problems.

Check out for starters this link and read all the comments.
